We were proud to see Multicare Medical featured on the first episode of the brand-new series of BBC’s DIY SOS this month, where we played a small part in transforming the home of seven-year-old Isla and her family in Leicester.
Born with a rare genetic condition, Isla is a bright, determined little girl who has dreams of living more independently in her own home. To make this possible, she needed a fully bespoke, accessible environment which would include specialist adaptations to her bathroom and living space.
Building independence through design
Working alongside the incredible DIY SOS team and a host of skilled volunteers, Multicare supplied and installed two key pieces of equipment to help support Isla’s independence and comfort:

Select height-adjustable wash basin – providing easy, adaptable access for Isla as she grows

Geneva adjustable bath – offering comfort, safety, and flexibility for daily care routines
These installations formed part of a wider transformation to ensure the home is fully equipped to support Isla’s needs now and in the future.
Creating a home that meets such unique requirements was no small feat. Every detail, from layout and space planning to specialist fixtures, was designed to make daily life easier and more enjoyable for Isla and her family.
As always, our goal was to provide equipment that empowers and helps to turn a functional space into a truly enabling environment. It was an emotional and inspiring build, and we’re incredibly proud to have contributed to a project that will make such a lasting difference to Isla’s life.
