Multicare offer a range of hoist training and moving and handling training courses that are designed to give staff the skills, confidence and knowledge to use the equipment safely, and with dignity.

Training is carried out at your premises and is tailored to staff skill set and requirements. Personalised training offers an opportunity for specific challenges to be addressed and tailored situations to be implemented.

Training Course

(Full Day)

A comprehensive Moving and Handling training course that covers every aspect of Moving and Handling within your setting.

This course includes an overview of legislation, principles of safe moving and handling, risk assessment awareness and a practical hands on session with equipment and different scenario-based exercises.

Suitable for all skill levels, including those with no previous experience.

Full Moving & Handling

Training Refresher

(Half Day)
The refresher course builds on the full manual handling training course to ensure that the principles and knowledge acquired in the course are still being applied correctly.

This course is an opportunity to discuss any changes within your environment. We recommend a refresher every two years to ensure the continuance of good practice.

Suitable for candidates who have already taken the full manual handling training course within the last 24 months.

Training Course

(Half Day)
This course focuses on the safe use of hoists for support staff who have had previous moving and handling training.

It offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of hoisting and sling application and usage. It is particularly useful where there are challenging behaviours or situations, offering an opportunity to explore solutions and options for safer patient handling.

About our Moving and Handling Trainer.

Kevin Sanders is our moving and handling equipment specialist, trainer and adviser with over 27 years’ experience working with and supporting children and adults with complex needs and disabilities. Kevin is the best in the business when it comes to training and assessments.

Available for on-site assessments and in-house group moving and handling training, Kevin provides expert advice and training to a range of clients. This includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Health Care Professionals, Care Homes, Schools, Colleges, and Day Care Centres, as well as support and advice for end users in residential settings.
