Bespoke Colour-Matched GH3 Ceiling Hoist in a Private Home Cinema
This project involved the installation of a ceiling track hoist system within a private home, in a purpose-designed home cinema room created for a young person with complex mobility needs and their family.
The room had been carefully designed to provide a dark, atmospheric cinema experience, with considered lighting and finishes to create a space that felt special, relaxing, and non-clinical. It was important that any specialist equipment installed would support full accessibility while blending seamlessly into the room’s design, allowing the whole family to enjoy film nights and downtime together in a space that felt like a true home environment rather than a clinical setting.
The Challenge: Creating discreet, full-room hoisting within a design-led, non-clinical space
The family required a ceiling hoist system that would provide safe, comfortable transfers and full room coverage, while preserving the carefully designed cinema aesthetic.

Multicare designed and installed a wall-mounted, XY ceiling track system to provide full room coverage using a Guldmann GH3 ceiling hoist, with the track powder-coated in a bespoke dark blue RAL finish to match the interior of the cinema room. The GH3 hoist motor was also fitted with a specially produced colour-matched cover, ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish throughout. By colour-matching both the track and the hoist motor, the system visually disappears into the background, allowing the focus to remain on the room itself rather than on the assistive equipment.
