FAQs

What environments is the Ropox shower couch suitable for?
The shower couch is designed for wet rooms and assisted bathing areas, including hygiene rooms, Changing Places facilities, SEN schools, care homes, and healthcare environments where users require supported showering or changing.

What structural support is required for installation?
The couch must be fixed to a load-bearing wall capable of supporting both static and dynamic loads. Reinforced partitions, concrete walls, steel supports, or strengthened stud walls are typically required. Structural verification should be carried out during design.

What is the maximum user weight?
The shower couch supports a maximum user weight of 220 kg, suitable for a wide range of children and adults requiring assisted bathing or personal care.

What height adjustment does the couch provide?
The unit offers 700 mm of electric height adjustment, operated via handset. This allows carers to work at a safe, ergonomic height and enables smooth transfers from wheelchairs.

What lengths are available?
The couch is available in 1460 mm, 1780 mm, and 2100 mm lengths, with usable lengths of 1260 mm, 1580 mm, and 1900 mm respectively. This allows architects to select a model that fits the room layout and user requirements.

How does the drainage system work?
A water collection tray and flexible drainage hose are integrated into the design, allowing safe and efficient removal of wastewater in wet environments. Plumbing access should be planned during design.

Can the couch be folded away?
Yes. The couch folds against the wall to save space, making it suitable for smaller hygiene rooms or multi-use spaces. When folded, it provides clear floor space for circulation and cleaning.

What safety features are available?
Optional safety features include:

  • Long-side safety rail
  • Short-side end guard
  • Adjustable backrest
  • Head support

These assist with user positioning and prevent rolling or sliding during use

Is the couch suitable for infection-controlled environments?
Yes. The padded slats are removable, reversible, and easy to clean, and the overall design minimises dirt traps, supporting robust hygiene and infection control practices.

What are the power requirements?
The couch is hard-wired and operates on 100–240V ~50/60Hz. Power isolation and access for maintenance should be planned in accordance with electrical safety standards.

Are BIM/Revit models available for design coordination?
Yes. BIM and CAD files can be provided to support space planning, clash detection, and M&E integration.
