compliant Changing Places facility to further support disabled fans and visitors with complex needs.

The Challenge: Delivering a fully compliant Changing Places facility within a complex stadium environment
Installing a Changing Places facility within a live stadium environment presents a number of technical challenges. The space needed to meet strict Changing Places and Building Regulations requirements while integrating seamlessly into the existing structure of the stadium.
One key consideration was the ceiling construction and the services located above it. The project required a safe and reliable ceiling hoist solution without impacting or altering ceiling services, while still delivering smooth, secure transfers for users.
The facility also needed to incorporate a full range of specialist equipment within a practical, well-laid-out space that could withstand high visitor usage and remain easy to maintain.
The Result: A safe, dignified, and fully compliant Changing Places facility
Multicare Medical delivered a complete 12sqm Changing Places installation at Anfield stadium, supporting users with complex needs while meeting all relevant guidance and standards.
The project began with a detailed site survey to assess the existing space, structural considerations, and service constraints, followed by a full room design produced using CAD drawings to ensure compliance, usability, and efficient use of space.
A Guldmann GH1 ceiling hoist system was installed using wall-mounted brackets, removing the need to fix tracking directly to the ceiling structure. This approach enabled safe, efficient installation without disruption to services above the ceiling, making it an ideal solution for complex stadium environments.
From installation through to commissioning, all works were completed by Multicare’s in-house team, ensuring consistency, quality, and clear communication throughout. The finished space provides a robust, comfortable, and fully accessible environment that supports dignity, independence, and ease of use for visitors, carers, and support staff.
